Save converter

Bring a Game Boy save from an emulator or a real cartridge onto your Cart64 N64 cartridge, or take your N64 progress back to a .sav. It works both ways and runs in your browser, so your files never leave your device.

How to use it

A Game Boy save onto your N64

  1. Make the cartridge on cart64.com, start it on your N64 once and save in the game, so your flash cart creates a save file for it.
  2. Here, pick the game and your Game Boy .sav (for example from an emulator). Optionally add the save file your flash cart made.
  3. Copy the new file onto the SD card in place of the flash cart's save file for that game, keeping that file's name.

Your N64 progress back to a .sav

  1. Copy the game's save file from your flash cart's SD card to your computer.
  2. Here, pick the game and that save file. You get a .sav that emulators and Game Boy cart flashers can use.

Games with a clock

Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal keep a clock in their save. The converter carries it over in the format most Game Boy emulators use. If a .sav has no clock data, the clock starts fresh and the game may ask you to set the time.
