Controls and picture
On a Cart64 cartridge the N64 controller works like a Game Boy: the D-pad or the stick is the D-pad, A is A, B is B, Start is Start, and Z or C-down is Select.
Buttons
| N64 controller | Game Boy button |
|---|---|
| D-pad or control stick | D-pad |
| A | A |
| B | B |
| Start | Start |
| Z trigger or C-down | Select |
Games made for rumble carts play normally; the rumble itself is ignored for now.
Picture: Fit or Sharp
You choose the picture when you make the cartridge on cart64.com. To change it, make the cartridge again with the other setting.
- Fit (the default): the game is shown 1.5 times bigger and smoothed, so it fills more of the TV.
- Sharp: the game is shown at exact 1x pixels in the middle of the screen, with no smoothing. Smaller, but every pixel is crisp.
If the picture looks small on your TV, use Fit.
Saving
Save in the game as you would on the handheld. The save goes to the flash cart and survives turning the console off. See how saves work.
